Tungle is scheduling software that enhances your calendar, making it the ultimate scheduling solution. Business directory services are one of the most lucrative advertising businesses, despite the high overheads of managing and maintaining their core data, running large sales forces, IT departments, order entry teams… but for business owners it’s difficult and time-consuming to make updates, and it takes considerable time for updates to take effect. For smaller businesses it’s too expensive to advertise or promote their businesses, they have no control over how their listings are maintained, and many of today’s SOHO businesses never even make it into existing business directories. For users there is no indication of the reputation of suppliers, and no way to provide their own feedback, correct obvious mistakes that they see, or add additional useful information.
Brownbook applies the concepts of peer-production and wikis to revolutionize the business directory market. By harnessing the power and principles of wikis, user generated content, social media and social networking it creates a business directory service that:

Hi all, I’m in here in Colorado in final preparations to come to Montreal on Monday. I would like to remind you about our first meetup on Tuesday (Sept 2nd). There will be no demos at this meetup. Just an informal get together at Brutopia for some good beer and talk startups.
So, if you still have some room for more beer after Startup Drinks tonight, I would love to meet you all next week.
If you do plan on attending it and have a Meetup.com account, please RSVP here. (If you decide last minute, no worries, just come by on Tuesday and look for us)
I’m going to bring my camera and maybe we can take some video of some of us introducing ourselves to the community: what we’re working on, what we’re looking for… anything. Then I can share it in here for others to see… So, prepare your pitch if you’d like to share anything.
Hope to meet you all next week. I’ll be wearing a red Meetup.com shirt
PS: You can also join our Facebook group and/or our LinkedIn group!

Hello tech community of Montreal. My name is Felipe Coimbra and I’m moving to Montreal on September 1st. I noticed we didn’t have a Montreal NewTech Meetup group yet, but there are a lot going on in the startup scene over there.
I decided to start this meetup because I was an active member of the Silicon Valley NewTech, SF NewTech and Boulder NewTech and I think it’s a great way for us to network as well as to share with other tech centers what we’re doing in Montreal.
I want this site and the Montreal NewTech meetup events to be used by all of us as resources to share our ideas, products, ask for help, find jobs, meet other tech enthusiasts, form partnerships, etc.
If you want to get involved, post your event, or have anything else you think the Montreal Tech community should know, please send me an email.
For those of you who are not familiar with the NewTech meetups format, please see what to expect here.
We’ll do the first official Montreal NewTech meetup on October 7th, as I won’t have enough time to put it all together for September 2nd.
However, if you don’t have any plans for September 2nd, we could make the first one a “Startup Drinks” style meetup. The best beer I have ever had was from Brutopia, so let’s meet there for Happy Hour at 7pm.
Please join our group and RSVP at Meetup.com.
I’m very excited to be back in Montreal and I look forward to meeting you all in a few weeks.
MTL NewTech is a Meetup.com and Upcoming.org groups. Join us over there too!
