I’d like to thank you all for coming to the first Montreal NewTech meetup tonight at Station-C. For those of you who missed it, I’ll be posting the demos soon.
We had three great demos tonight, and hopefully we’ll continue to showcase other cool Montreal startups every month. Our next meetup will be either on Nov 4th or 11th. I’ll update the group page when we know for sure. For now, there are a few things you could do to contribute to the Montreal tech community:
- Participate! There are several other networking events in Montreal. Start going to some of them and get involved in the community.
- Tell people what you’re working on. If you’d like to demo your product/startup at the next NewTech, please email me at demo@mtlnewtech.com.
- If you’re a blogger, photographer, video blogger, write about the startups who demo as well as other interesting people you meet in these events.
I want this event to continue to be free for all of us, so I’m going to be looking for sponsors for next month. If you want to contribute your 2 cents to the tech community, please get in touch with me. It’s a great opportunity to talk about your company too.
See you all next month!

Just a reminder that the first Montreal NewTech meetup is next Tuesday (Oct 7th). If you’re planning to attend, please go to the Meetup.com page and RSVP as the space is limited.
The event will take place at Station-C, the first Montreal coworking space, at 5369 Boulevard Saint-Laurent, suite 430 at 7pm.
Here’s how the event will go:
1) Four startups will demo their product for 5 minutes each, followed by 5 minutes Q&A.
2) At the end of the demos, anybody can make any quick announcement to the group.
3) We hang out at Station-C to network with the presenters and other attendees.
There is a lot going on in the Montreal tech community and in order for this event to be successful and interesting for the community, we need to start sharing ideas and contributing to each others. So, if you have something ready to show to the community, please contact me!
We’re still looking for a couple of startups to demo! E-mail me at demo@mtlnewtech.comÂ
I look forward to seeing the demos and meeting you all next week!

Hi all, I’m in here in Colorado in final preparations to come to Montreal on Monday. I would like to remind you about our first meetup on Tuesday (Sept 2nd). There will be no demos at this meetup. Just an informal get together at Brutopia for some good beer and talk startups.
So, if you still have some room for more beer after Startup Drinks tonight, I would love to meet you all next week.
If you do plan on attending it and have a Meetup.com account, please RSVP here. (If you decide last minute, no worries, just come by on Tuesday and look for us)
I’m going to bring my camera and maybe we can take some video of some of us introducing ourselves to the community: what we’re working on, what we’re looking for… anything. Then I can share it in here for others to see… So, prepare your pitch if you’d like to share anything.
Hope to meet you all next week. I’ll be wearing a red Meetup.com shirt
PS: You can also join our Facebook group and/or our LinkedIn group!
